Give Yourself Peace Of Mind: Board At IHC
Leaving your horse in someone else’s care can be as challenging as leaving your child in day care. Your peace of mind depends on your ability to trust the people in charge of your horse’s well-being.

The Interstate Horse Center (IHC) is different than most of the other stables in this area. Simply read our mission statement. It says nothing about being the biggest or best . It says nothing about focusing on teaching you how to be the best; despite the fact IHC students have earned more honors than we can recall. It focuses on providing a healthy environment for both humans and horses; an environment where the spiritual bond between you and your horse can grow and be honored.

IHC is owned and operated by a family with 30+ years experience in the professional care of horses. This experience can help you learn and grow as a horseman. It can enhance your bond with your equine friend.

Perhaps most importantly, our experience can give you peace of mind.

Natural Approach We strive to maintain a low-stress, naturally healthy environment because we believe our animals deserve to be treated equally as well as the rest of our colleagues, friends and family.

Collaborative Boarding A new concept developed for horsemen of all ages and experience levels. We offer you the opportunity to learn and grow as a horseman through experiential activities in herd and farm management. In return for your help caring for the horses and the IHC environment, you receive free education AND credit toward your board cost (up to $145/mo).

Personal & Professional Growth We have mentored hundreds of horsemen ranging from owners who simply wanted to learn how to properly care for their own horses at home to hopeful-professionals who had dreams of a career with horses.

Base board cost*
IHC cleans stall = $290/month
Owner cleans stall = $245/month

Board Includes:
• Free educational events
• Individualized rations of hay & grain am/pm.
• Daily turnout, weather & footing in paddocks permitting.
• Highly-visible safety fencing.
• Bi-monthly parasite control (owner pays cost, IHC administers wormer)
• Use of 60’x120’ indoor riding arena
• TLC and supervision by professional horsemen with 30+ years experience.

Training With Trust™
Training With Trust™ is a non-traditional approach to traditional training programs. Your horse comes to IHC to live throughout the training period. Your horse’s training begins with a one-month assessment period, after which we make recommendations and outline an “Individualized Training Plan” for you and your horse. We do the training of your horse while you learn our language via lessons with IHC horses. It is non-traditional because aromatherapy, massage, yoga and other methods will be as common to the training experience as bringing a horse.

Progressive Training Through Healthy Relationship™
Progressive Training Through Healthy Relationship™ is a program that teaches amateur owners how to do their own training and/or improve their relationship with their horse(s). It can take place at IHC via an individualized program of training and lessons in which you learn how to do your own training with guidance and support from professionals who have been teaching people how to train their own horses for decades; or it can be set up either as an off-site clinic (few hours to a few days) OR as an individualized program that may include Nikki coming to your farm.
